From the 21st of January until the 20th of February there is a Gothic font competition.

The idea: Design a TTF font for the Gothic language with the Gothic alphabet. As long as it is clearly recognizable as being Gothic you are free in your creativity of the design. The font you produce will have a SIL or Public Domain license.

The fonts should be uploaded to http://www.fontspace.com/ and you should give a link to your font.

Competition: The competition will start today, the 21st of January 2018, and end the 20th of February, which gives you about a month.

The rules: - You can submit only 1 font. - Which font wins will be decided by a poll in here and a Jury. The poll, in other words, democracy, will be the most important decision-maker, but a jury which I 'll create has the last word. A Jury member can't judge about a font they created themself. Voting on yourself can't be stopped, but of course you'll need many other users to vote on your font to win. - A font has to contain mapping for the Gothic unicode characters. Using Gothic letters for the Roman characters (e.g. "a", "b", "g" etc.) is optional. - You should include a picture of a phrase or small text in Gothic written with your text. - Your font should be submitted on this page in order to participate.

The award: Your font mentioned on Himma Daga + a free Gothic translation of a short text by choice + something which I still have to figure out.

The jury consists of Bokareis and Gadrauhts.

Add your font here to enter the competition, do it like this, add an asterisk (*) before all of the four descriptions.

  • Name: Your name/nickname
  • Font: The name of your font
  • Fontlink: A link to your font, can be Fontspace, but another place too.
  • Font example: Either an image or a link to an image in which you can see your font in use.

Under font example add four accolades without spaces (~ ~ ~ ~)
